It would surprise no one to learn that the Omega Speedmaster would feature prominently in Apple TV+'s recent film "Fly me to the Moon." After all, the film centers around the Apollo 11 mission and the products that were used during the mission.
We did not expect, but of course were thrilled, to see the Forstner Komfit accompanying the Speedmaster throughout the film, including on the wrist of Channing Tatum as well as on actors Colin Woodell (who played Buzz Aldrin), Nick Dillenburg (who played Neil Armstrong), and Christian Zuber (who played Michael Collins).
Huge hat tip to costume designer Mary Zophres for finding the period correct Komfit, which the Apollo 11 crew in fact wore during training, and including it in the film! Although after viewing Ms. Zophres's bio, it's clear that she has a keen eye for detail - having been nominated for four Oscars and having worked on such films as "Catch me if you Can," "Interstellar," "La La Land," and so many other beautifully designed movies.
Many thanks to Apple TV+, the cast, and crew, for Forstner's Hollywood debut!
